"This world is but a canvas for our imagination."
The Roberts family purchased the land in 2007. The goal is that the garden resort will draw visitors not just for award-winning wine and spirits, elegant coastal cuisine in a casual setting, but also with regionally-renown botanic garden. There are over fifteen acres of themed display gardens with more on the drawing board.
Local artists were commissioned to create over sixty outdoor sculptures commemorating each of the wines and themed gardens. There are signs for a self-guided walking tour for guests to fully enjoy our destination and the creative hands behind its growth.
There is a Backstage Winemaker's Tour offered every Saturday and Sunday at 1pm. Good walking shoes and warm apparel are recommended.
“The first year they sleep, the next year they creep, the third year they leap.”
There are over one hundred signs within the gardens. They tell the stories of the wines, the labels, the sculptures, the gardens, and the people who contributed.
Winery co-owner and founder Kim Roberts is the designer of all aspects of this property including the signage. These graphic designs are included in the book Westport Winery: A Coast Traveler's Dream which is available to purchase in the winery and on this website.
The gardens are available to tour daily from 8am to 7pm. There is no charge. Guests are welcome to bring their dogs but they must remain on leash. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
